Ronaldo and 6 Foreign Players Summoned to National Teams
Portugal calls Ronaldo and teammates, while six foreign Al-Nassr players leave for national duty.

Ronaldo's Return to the National Team

Al-Nassr received an official letter from the Portuguese Football Federation requesting the addition of legend Cristiano Ronaldo, team captain, along with his teammates Joao Felix and Samu Costa to the senior national team squad. This comes in preparation for matches against Denmark and Wales in the 2026-2027 UEFA Nations League, according to exclusive sources speaking to "Al-Riyadhia".

The Portuguese Federation's request followed the inclusion of 41-year-old Ronaldo in the preliminary list for the national team ahead of November fixtures, a move paving the way for his return to his country's squad. This step comes after his absence from the previous training camp due to a disagreement with his compatriot, national team coach Jorge Jesus.

End of Suspension

Al-Nassr's captain left the Portugal training camp on September 30 last year following a dispute with the technical staff, leading the Portuguese Federation's Disciplinary Committee to impose a 30-day suspension. This punishment was applied retroactively, allowing his return to the national team once the suspension period ended.

Ronaldo had previously apologized to the Portuguese public for leaving the camp, affirming his readiness to accept any penalty issued against him. His anticipated return adds to the national team's options ahead of the matches against Denmark and Wales.

Departure of 6 Foreign Players

In a related development, Al-Nassr received international call-up requests for three other foreign players. The Brazilian national team list included goalkeeper Pinto. Meanwhile, the Senegalese national team called up striker Sadio Mane, and the Iraqi national team summoned its citizen Haider Abdul Karim.

The number of Al-Nassr's foreign players expected to join their national teams rises to six, comprising three Portuguese players, one Brazilian, one Senegalese, and one Iraqi.
