Rubio: Oslo talks positive, Witkoff to convey results to Russia
US Secretary of State confirms positive meeting between Witkoff and Zelenskyy in Oslo and his subsequent meeting with Putin in Russia.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed on Wednesday that the meeting between US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Oslo was positive, noting that Witkoff will convey the results of these talks to the Russian side as part of efforts to advance negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv.

Agence France-Presse quoted Rubio telling journalists during his visit to India that the talks "were positive, and nothing unexpected or surprising happened, and Witkoff can now go to St. Petersburg carrying these ideas and sharing them with the Russian side," adding, "Let's see if we can make some progress."

Witkoff's arrival in Russia

Witkoff arrived in Russia earlier today to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, following his meeting with Zelenskyy in Oslo on Tuesday, as Kyiv seeks to repair relations with Washington amid tensions over military aid and intelligence sharing.

Details of "Starshield" disputes

Rubio clarified that the White House was not previously aware of the slowdown in satellite communication services provided by Elon Musk's SpaceX, stating that "President Donald Trump has no connection to the decisions made by the company," while Trump denied ordering the speed reduction, and The Wall Street Journal reported that Musk ordered it.

Complications in ending the war

Rubio also acknowledged the difficulty of ending the war between Russia and Ukraine, which has lasted more than four and a half years, saying, "These matters are complicated; if ending this war were easy, it would have ended a long time ago."
