Rural Damascus completes road paving in Qatna as part of the "Our Countryside is More Beautiful" campaign
Rural Damascus continues road maintenance and paving in Qatna under the "Our Countryside is More Beautiful" campaign.

Rural Damascus Governorate, in cooperation with the Directorate of Technical Services, continues implementing road maintenance and paving works as part of the "Our Countryside is More Beautiful" campaign. This includes laying the asphalt layer on the road extending from the entrance of Qatna city to the Masaken intersection, passing through Al-Saraya, after finishing the road scraping, alongside completing the maintenance and paving of several other roads sequentially.

Engineer Hamoud Alawi from the Directorate of Technical Services in Rural Damascus Governorate told SANA on Monday that these projects are part of the efforts made to improve the state of roads and enhance the services provided to citizens. He pointed out that the length of the road being paved is 2,800 meters, with an average width reaching 10.7 meters.

For his part, Mahmoud Al-Hamsher, a shop owner and resident of Qatna city, confirmed that maintaining and paving the road contributes to reducing the accumulation of dust and dirt, and addressing potholes and bumps that hindered the movement of cars and pedestrians. This has a positive impact on the cleanliness of commercial establishments and customer comfort. He noted that about 70 percent of the road was in poor condition before the start of the works.

The Ministry of Local Administration and Environment and Rural Damascus Governorate had launched the "Our Countryside is More Beautiful" campaign to implement integrated service and development projects. These include rehabilitating roads and infrastructure, improving cleanliness and lighting, and beautifying city entrances and public parks.
