Egyptian folk artist Saad Al-Saghir expressed his great happiness to participate in the 21st edition of the "Mawazine... Rhythms of the World" in Morocco.
During the press conference for his concert, Saad Saghir described the Mawazine Festival as a "World Cup" for artists in Egypt, noting that participating in it is an important achievement in the artistic career of any singer. He added that the love of the Moroccan audience was the main reason for his presence at the festival, stressing his keenness to present an exceptional concert that suits the taste of the audience there.
The popular singer confirmed that he feels like he is among his family in Egypt, due to the warm reception he always receives in Morocco, pointing out that the Moroccan audience has a special artistic taste and loves Egyptian folk songs. He also revealed his desire to present a duet with one of the stars of Moroccan folk music in the coming period.
Fourth participation in the festival
Saad Saghir participated in the activities of the Mawazine Festival for the fourth time in a row, where he performed a public concert as part of a series of concerts hosted in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, with the participation of a group of the most prominent Arab and international singing stars.
Before traveling to Morocco, Saad Al-Saghir posted a photo from Cairo Airport with his band, expressing his enthusiasm to participate in the major artistic event, and sending a message of thanks to his fans inside and outside Egypt for their continuous support.
Saad Al-Sagheer's appearance in Mawazine comes after a period that saw wide interaction with his name on social media, and he returned to the spotlight through one of the most prominent musical events in the Arab world.
Opening of the Festival
The 19th edition of the Mawazine Rhythms of the World Festival kicked off in Morocco on Friday evening, June 19th, with a number of concerts, the most prominent of which were the Egyptian Angham and the Lebanese Carole Samaha.
Angham performed at the Renaissance Theater, which is dedicated to Arabic music, accompanied by the band under the leadership of Maestro Hani Farhat, but with a modest audience compared to previous editions of the Mawazine Festival, which is the largest music festival in Morocco.
Calls for a boycott preceded the festival on social media in solidarity with the residents of the Gaza Strip, with Moroccan activists launching the hashtag "Don't dance on the wounds of your brothers" and recalling the suffering of those affected by the earthquake in September to demand that attention be focused on priorities instead of holding festivals.
The festival will continue until June 29 with a program that includes a group of Arab and foreign artists, including Lebanese Haifa Wehbe, Egyptian Mohamed Ramadan, Yemeni Balqees, Moroccan Samira Said, Australian Kylie Minogue, American Camila Capio and Scottish Calvin Harris.
