The technical staff of the senior Saudi national football team announced the preparation program for "Al-Akhdar" ahead of the 2027 Asian Cup competitions. This includes two main training camps in Qatar and Al-Khobar, interspersed with four trial matches, as part of preparations for the continental tournament hosted by Saudi Arabia for the first time in the history of the competition.
The Saudi national team's preparation program is divided into two stages. The first begins with a camp in Qatar from November 9 to 17 next year, during which Al-Akhdar will play two trial matches: the first against South Korea on Friday, November 13, and the second against Uzbekistan on Tuesday, November 17. These matches provide the technical staff with an opportunity to evaluate player readiness.
Meanwhile, the second stage of the program begins with a training camp in Al-Khobar from December 21, 2026, to January 3, 2027. It includes a match against the Qatari national team on Sunday, December 27, before concluding the trial matches with a face-off against Jordan on Saturday, January 2. The final match will be held behind closed doors.
These preparations come days before the start of the continental tournament, which runs until February 5, 2027. The competition will be played in three Saudi cities: Riyadh, Jeddah, and Al-Khobar, with 24 teams participating, divided into six groups competing for the Asian title in the 19th edition of the tournament.
The Saudi national team will compete in the group stage within Group 1, alongside Kuwait, Oman, and Palestine, in an all-Arab group. Al-Akhdar aims to achieve a strong start in the tournament, which it will begin on home soil in front of its fans.
