The Mosque Administration under the Ministry of Endowments held a seminar at the Great Umayyad Mosque in Damascus today, Friday, as part of the "Because It Is God" campaign, with the participation of several members of the Higher Council for Fatwa and Minister of Endowments Muhammad Abu al-Khair Shukri.
Reinforcing Faith in God Almighty
The seminar, which included members of the Higher Council for Fatwa Dr. Khair Allah Talib and Dr. Muhammad Wahbi Sulaiman, in addition to Dr. Bilal Nur al-Din and Sheikh Ismail al-Zubaybi, focused on the meanings of loving and glorifying God, adhering to the Holy Quran, and embodying this love in daily behavior through kindness and gentleness in dealing with people.
Mu'in al-Din al-Barsha, Deputy Minister of Endowments for Religious Affairs, clarified in a statement to SANA correspondent that the seminar focused on reinforcing faith in God, glorifying Him, and loving Him, enhancing faith-based and ethical values in society, in addition to explaining practical means capable of embodying this in daily life.
Enhancing Culture of Tolerance and Social Cohesion
For his part, member of the Higher Council for Fatwa Dr. Muhammad Wahbi Sulaiman called for contemplation on God's verses and creation, explaining that recalling these meanings reflects tranquility and contentment in human life, and contributes to enhancing psychological stability and positive interaction with the social environment.
For his part, Dr. Bilal Nur al-Din, preacher at the Nablus Mosque in Damascus, clarified that the seminar addressed the close relationship between glorifying God Almighty and loving Him, and ways to translate these meanings into practical behavior that positively reflects on the life of the individual and society.
He added: Love for God is manifested in obedience to Him, doing good to others, being gentle with them, and safeguarding their rights, which enhances values of compassion and solidarity, contributes to consolidating social bonds, reinforcing the culture of tolerance, and enhancing social cohesion and stability.
Campaign Details
The seminar preceded Friday's sermon delivered by the Minister of Endowments, in which he emphasized the importance of contemplating God's verses, blessings, and creations to understand God's commands and legislation.
The Ministry of Endowments launched the "Because It Is God" campaign on the 15th of this month, aiming to reinforce the glorification of God Almighty in souls, enhance knowledge of His names and attributes, contemplate the greatness of His creation, and feel His watchfulness and reverence for His rituals.
