Settlers attack olive pickers in Singil and the West Bank, while farmers reach their lands with international supporters.

Israeli settlers attacked olive pickers in the town of Singil north of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank on Friday, while Palestinian farmers were able to reach their lands in the town of Al-Mazra'a al-Sharqiyya and harvest olives alongside foreign supporters, after two years of being prevented due to settler terrorism.

The "Al-Bader" rights organization stated in a statement that settlers attacked olive pickers and cut olive trees in the town of Singil, as shown in a circulating video, in an attack targeting agricultural lands and Palestinian property. The organization did not mention any injuries among the olive pickers during the attack.

For his part, Palestinian farmers told Anadolu that they, alongside foreign supporters and Palestinian activists, were able to reach their lands and harvest olives in the town of Al-Mazra'a al-Sharqiyya, despite its proximity to a settlement outpost. They added that the settlement outpost prevented them from reaching their lands during the past two years.

The Palestinian Wall and Settlement Resistance Authority noted on Thursday that it documented 409 attacks targeting olive farmers, their trees, lands, and agricultural equipment in the West Bank during the period from October 1 to 21. The government-affiliated authority clarified that 317 of those attacks were carried out by settlers, compared to 92 carried out by the Israeli army.

The attacks included preventing farmers from reaching their fields and forcing them to leave, as well as stealing crops and destroying trees and agricultural equipment. Since the start of Israel's genocidal war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023, the Israeli army and settlers have escalated their attacks against Palestinians and their property in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

Those attacks include killing and arresting Palestinians, demolishing homes and structures, burning mosques and vehicles, clearing agricultural lands, preventing farmers from reaching their fields, displacing Palestinian communities, alongside settlement expansion. Palestinians warn that these practices pave the way for Israel to formally annex the West Bank, undermining the possibility of establishing a Palestinian state in accordance with relevant UN resolutions.
