The Directorate of Technical Services in Aleppo Governorate began, on Sunday, implementing the maintenance and rehabilitation projects for the "Qabasine – Shuwayha – Shadar" road, spanning 15 kilometers, and the "Tadif – Abu Talatal – Al-Bayra – Arin – Tel Aisha" road, spanning 9.8 kilometers, in the Bab area of eastern Aleppo countryside. The project aims to improve public services, facilitate residents' movement, and enhance trade and agricultural crop transport in the area.
The head of the Road Maintenance Section at the Directorate of Technical Services and supervisor of the two projects, Engineer Muhammad Ahmad, clarified that the completion rate of scraping old asphalt on the entire route of the "Qabasine – Shuwayha – Shadar" road reached approximately 90 percent. He pointed out that the next phase includes laying a layer of gravel with a width of 8 meters, spraying two layers of tack coat and binder, in preparation for laying the asphalt surface with a width of 6 meters.
Ahmad added that the project includes installing water culverts along the road to drain floodwaters in valley areas, thereby contributing to enhancing road safety and ensuring continuous use of the road. In the second axis, he pointed out the start of paving and asphalt work on the "Tadif – Abu Talatal – Al-Bayra – Arin" road up to Tel Aisha, spanning 9,800 meters, which includes opening the road box and widening its shoulders in narrow sections to a depth of 25 centimeters, in preparation for backfilling them with quarry waste and compacting them technically.
For his part, citizen Mustafa Muhammad Al-Khalil, from the residents of Shadar village, expressed his satisfaction with the start of rehabilitation, explaining that the road constitutes a main artery in northern eastern Aleppo countryside, and that potholes and cracks have caused daily hardship. He clarified that the road connects villages and towns in the Bab countryside to the city of Qabasine, stimulates economic activity, and ensures mobility towards the town of Al-Ra'i and its border crossing and the Al-Ghandoura area.
For his part, citizen Maher Abdul Majid Al-Abdullah, from Al-Barij village, confirmed that leveling and widening the road up to Tadif district will reduce potholes and obstacles that cause damage to vehicles and disrupt mobility. He pointed out that asphalt work will have a positive impact on the service and living conditions in adjacent villages and towns. It is worth noting that the Directorate of Technical Services carried out rehabilitation and asphalt work on the main road in the city of Tel Rifaat in northern Aleppo countryside last August.
