Field teams affiliated with the Statistics Directorate in Quneitra Governorate began, on Sunday, implementing the 2026 Labor Force Survey in various towns and villages of the governorate, aiming to provide accurate data on the labor market reality and workforce characteristics, thereby contributing to identifying needs and drawing employment and development policies.
Suzi Haj Issa, Director of Planning and Statistics in Quneitra, clarified in a statement to SANA that the survey, launched by the Planning and Statistics Commission in cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, and in partnership with the International Labour Organization, targets 2700 families in the governorate, selected through random samples distributed across villages and towns.
She pointed out that the survey implementation lasts 40 days, with the participation of 12 specialized field teams, noting that it relies on international statistical standards and provides realistic data on the labor market, workforce characteristics, and human capital.
Haj Issa called on citizens to cooperate with field teams and answer questions transparently and accurately, emphasizing that the data provided by the survey forms the basis for drawing public and employment policies, determining development priorities, and planning for labor market needs and the future of coming generations.
The Planning and Statistics Commission had announced last October the start of implementing the Labor Force Survey in various Syrian governorates for 45 days, in cooperation with the International Labour Organization and with funding from the European Union.
The survey aims to determine the size of the workforce and its demographic and economic distribution, monitor unemployment factors, and forecast labor market trends and future needs, thereby contributing to directing human capital.
