Sudanese Chief of Staff Accuses Israel of Leading a "Conspiracy" against His Country
The army announces the defeat of the Rapid Support Forces in North Darfur

The Chief of Staff of the Sudanese Army, Lieutenant General Yasser Abdul Rahman Al-Atta, accused Israel of being behind what he described as a "Zionist conspiracy" aimed at destabilizing Sudan's security through undercover elements working behind the scenes, stressing that the Sudanese  Armed Forces are moving towards achieving victory on all fronts.

During his visit to the Armored Corps on Saturday (June 27th), al-Atta said that the army has "plans and equipment to ensure complete victory", adding: "I swear to clear the entire land of Kordofan and Darfur".

The Sudanese military official directly accused Israel, saying that Sudan is fighting "the claw of evil represented by hidden elements of global Zionism in the entity state," describing it as a "rotten state" that "conspiracies."

He pointed out that there is a "significant information effort" from the competent agencies and international and UN reports confirming the nature of the war that Sudan is fighting, revealing "hidden elements" that are working to destabilize the country.

He stressed that the armed forces "stand against this conspiracy" with the support of the people, stressing that they "will not let the homeland and the Sudanese nation down."

Sudanese army defeats Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militants from Darafur town

The joint force allied with the Sudanese army announced on Saturday the control of the strategic town of Abu Qamra in North Darfur state (west) after battles with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

In  a statement, the joint force of the armed movements announced that "the  town of  Abu Qamra has been completely liberated together with the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Popular Resistance (volunteers), following fierce battles that took place from the early hours of the morning until this evening (Saturday)."

The statement explained that the military operations "resulted in the Rapid Support Militia incurring heavy losses in lives and equipment, including the destruction and burning of a number of combat vehicles and the seizure of others, while the militia members fled."

The Rapid Support Committee refuses to comment

Members of the Joint Force posted video clips on social media showing their control of the town, while the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) did not issue any comment as of 05:00 GMT.

It is worth mentioning that in December 2025, the Rapid Support Forces took control of the strategic town of Abu Qamra due to its location at a commercial crossroads linking several localities, about 200 kilometers northwest of the city of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur state.

Of the country's 18 states, the RSF controls the five Darfur states to the west, with the exception of parts of North Darfur that remain under the control of the military, which exerts its influence over most of the remaining states, including the capital, Khartoum.

The Darfur region makes up about one-fifth of Sudan's more than 1.8 million square kilometers, while most of the 50 million Sudanese live in areas controlled by the military.

Since April 2023, the RSF has been fighting the Sudanese army over a dispute over its integration into the military, causing famine within one of the world's worst humanitarian crises, killing tens of thousands of Sudanese and displacing 13 million people.
