Supply Police in Tartus Catch Violators in Baniyas and Close a Restaurant
Tartus Trade Directorate catches three supply violations in Baniyas, including closing a restaurant to ensure food safety.

The Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Tartus Governorate organized, on Tuesday, three supply seizures against violating entities in the city of Baniyas, during supervisory tours covering various commercial activities in the area. These measures aimed to monitor violations related to food safety and compliance with health requirements, taking necessary legal action against violators to ensure the protection of citizens' health.

Ibrahim Dagim, Deputy Director of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Tartus, clarified that the seized violations included non-compliance with health requirements, poor general hygiene, open garbage bins, improper storage and preservation, and the presence of insects. He noted that the violations did not include spoiled meat, while cases of recycling were observed, necessitating the organization of legal seizures against the violators.

In the same context, Dagim stated that a decision was made to seal one restaurant due to several serious violations, as part of measures aimed at ensuring compliance with health requirements and protecting citizens' health. He emphasized the continuation of supervisory tours on various commercial entities, especially restaurants and shops selling red and white meat, to monitor food safety and address existing violations.

For his part, the Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Tartus had seized, on the 11th of the current month, a quantity of red meat unfit for human consumption in one of the meat shops in Tartus city. The violating quantity was destroyed according to legal procedures, and a judicial seizure was organized against the shop owner, reflecting the commitment of supervisory authorities to monitor markets.

Supervisory campaigns will continue to ensure the provision of safe food for citizens and address any health or supply violations that arise during field tours.
