Syria condemned in the strongest terms the Israeli aggressions represented in the incursions into Syrian territory, in the governorates of Quneitra and Daraa, and the targeting of the area with artillery shells, and the resulting terror of civilians in a flagrant violation of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and a new violation of international law, the Charter of the United Nations and the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement that the continuation of these aggressive practices undermines efforts aimed at consolidating security and stability, increases the suffering of civilians in the targeted areas, and foreshadows further escalation and tension in the region.
The statement added that Syria calls on the United Nations and the international community to shoulder their responsibilities and take the necessary measures to put an end to these repeated violations and ensure respect for the disengagement agreement, in a way that safeguards Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

On Sunday, the Israeli occupation forces infiltrated the village of Abdeen in the western countryside of Daraa, and targeted the village and its surroundings with their helicopter launchers and artillery shells, causing material damage and the displacement of some residents from their homes towards the neighboring villages.
Cautious calm returns to the village of Abdeen in Daraa countryside
On the ground, a state of cautious calm has prevailed since the dawn of Monday, June 29, in the village of Abdeen, located in the Yarmouk Basin area of the western countryside of Daraa, after hours of violent military escalation by the Israeli occupation army, which is considered the largest in the area in recent days.
This calm coincided with the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation patrol at 2 a.m. local time on Monday, from Al-Maghr Hill and the outskirts of the village of Abdeen towards the occupied territories and the "Al-Jazeera" barracks near the village of Ma'ariyya, amid the beginning of the return of the residents to their homes after a night of forced displacement.
In turn, the United Nations International Separation Force (UNDOF) toured the village of Abdeen in the western countryside of Daraa, coinciding with the return of a number of families who were displaced at night outside the village as a result of the Israeli aggression.
Details of the night of escalation and intimidation
The area witnessed an accelerated escalation that began with the Israeli occupation forces installing military tents in the Tal al-Maghr area at dawn on Sunday, followed by the construction of a new checkpoint near the Jamla company, which will be the second within a day.
According to local sources, gunfire was observed last night shortly after the incursion of Israeli vehicles into the area , before it became clear that the fire was caused by rifles and machine guns of Israeli patrol members, who fired indiscriminately to disperse the residents who had gathered in the village.
The situation developed with the incursion of an Israeli force into the village of Abdeen, where the patrol fired indiscriminately, targeting farmers and preventing them from reaching their lands, and as night fell, the occupation forces shelled the vicinity of the village with artillery shells, and fired flares with heavy machine guns from helicopters, prompting families to leave their homes for fear of expanding the area of shelling.
Israeli forces captured "Talat al-Maghr", a former military post, and established its headquarters there, and linked it to "Tal al-Jazira" by building a military road, after occupying it on the eve of the fall of the regime on December 8, 2024.
Civil Defense Response and Solidarity Campaigns
The commander of civil defense operations at the Emergency and Disaster Management Directorate in southern Syria, Ahmed al-Hajer, confirmed that the shelling and helicopter bursts did not result in human casualties or material damage, but they caused a state of extreme panic and fear among the population, which led to limited displacement.
Al-Hajar explained that the Civil Defense teams immediately arrived in the village and are working to transport, secure and care for the displaced families in the neighboring towns, in conjunction with the deployment of military police and internal security elements to enhance stability, and the continuation of the Israeli drones flying in the air, and in keeping with the event, activists launched the hashtag "Save_South_Syria" on social media platforms to protect civilians.
