Syrian Central Bank Relaunches Banking Training Center After Two Years
Revitalization of the banking training center with Frankfurt University to enhance financial sector efficiency.

The Syrian Central Bank today, Sunday, in Damascus, relaunched the Banking Training and Qualification Center and developed its programs, after a two-year hiatus. This measure aims to continuously supply the banking sector with banking expertise and raise the skill level of its employees, in line with rapid developments in the financial field.

Training and Development Areas

The bank clarified via its Telegram channel that the center will work on developing the skills of banking cadres in areas such as risk management, banking supervision, combating money laundering and terrorist financing, cybersecurity, financial management, and modern financial technologies. The center also focuses on enhancing financial culture and banking awareness, targeting an increase in the efficiency of workers in the sector.

Partnership with Frankfurt University

This step comes within the framework of a cooperation agreement signed with the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences in Finance and Management, and the German Development Bank (Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau – KfW), which the bank signed last September. Under the agreement, Frankfurt University, funded by the German Development Bank, provides training programs and specialized expertise to employees of the Central Bank in particular, and to workers in the banking sector in general, over a period of three years.

Future Vision

The bank indicated that its vision is to make the center a leader in the field of banking training and a major source for the banking sector in Syria. The bank is working to conclude twinning agreements with international centers and attract local and international trainers with experience, contributing to enhancing the efficiency of banking cadres and keeping pace with international expertise and standards.
