The Executive Director of the Syrian-Chinese Business Council, Layth Al-Rakabi, confirmed that the Council continues its vigorous work to attract Chinese investments to Syria and enhance direct commercial relations between the two countries, contributing to activating trade exchange and supporting the national economy. Al-Rakabi clarified in a statement to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) on Saturday that the core axis of the Council's work relies on attracting Chinese investments through intensive marketing of investment opportunities and promising development projects, alongside simplifying procedures and clarifying legal frameworks and investment regulations for Chinese companies.
In the same context, Al-Rakabi pointed to the Council's efforts to reactivate direct commercial relations between Syrian traders and the Chinese side, bypassing any intermediary links, as well as facilitating the attendance of Syrian traders at specialized exhibitions and organizing visits by Chinese business delegations and entrepreneurs to Syria to closely observe the economic reality. On the level of enhancing national exports, Al-Rakabi noted that the Council pays special attention to contributing to the development and facilitation of exporting Syrian products required by Chinese markets, thereby supporting the national economy and activating trade exchange between the two friendly countries.
For his part, Minister of Economy and Industry Nidal Al-Shaar issued a decision on November 19, 2025, establishing the Syrian-Chinese Business Council, within the framework of enhancing cooperation and expanding economic partnership between Syria and China, stimulating and developing trade exchange, and attracting direct Chinese investments in priority Syrian sectors.
