The Syrian Ministry of Health confirmed that its participation in the first Syrian-Lebanese Investment Forum, which launched yesterday in the Lebanese capital Beirut, focused on two main tracks for cooperation. The first track aims to enhance direct coordination between the health ministries of the two countries and facilitate procedures and remove obstacles, while the second track is concerned with establishing joint projects and investment companies.
The Ministry of Health stated via its Telegram channel today that Health Minister Misbah Al-Ali clarified during his participation in the forum that the health sector is rich in promising investment opportunities, particularly in the field of creating and developing modern hospitals and enhancing medical tourism, which opens new horizons for partnership between the two countries.
Minister Al-Ali pointed out that Syria and Lebanon possess specialized medical expertise and competencies that have accumulated a distinguished professional presence locally and internationally over the years. He noted that this factor constitutes an attraction for investment in the health sector, with bilateral agreement between the health ministries of the two countries to facilitate steps and procedures to serve the interests of both peoples.
It is worth noting that the Syrian-Lebanese Investment Forum addresses sessions on investment files, reconstruction, sustainable development, transport, and economic cooperation between Syria and Lebanon. The Syrian delegation is headed by Minister of Economy and Industry Nidal Al-Shaar, along with ministers of tourism, health, agriculture, and transport, representatives from the ministries of energy and emergencies and disaster management, as well as heads of the Investment Authority and Civil Aviation Authority, and the Chargé d'Affaires of the Syrian Embassy in Beirut.
He added that the delegation also includes the President of the Syrian-Lebanese Business Council, reflecting the comprehensiveness of efforts made to strengthen economic and health ties between the two brotherly countries within the framework of this joint forum.
