The Syrian Ministry of Tourism is participating in the World Travel Market London 2026, hosted by the British capital London from November 3 to 5, with an official delegation led by Minister of Tourism Mazen Al-Salahani, accompanied by his deputy Faraj Al-Qashqoush.
The Ministry stated in a statement that the exhibition attracts more than 4,000 exhibitors from around the world, representatives from over 180 countries, as well as thousands of tourism sector specialists and decision-makers, making it a platform for direct communication between tourist destinations and visitor-exporting markets.
In the same context, the Ministry clarified that its participation highlights the diversity of the Syrian tourism product, from historical cities and archaeological sites and heritage markets to religious, natural tourism, and cultural experiences and local hospitality, with a focus on presenting Syria as a destination rich in experiences that can be developed and marketed within international travel programs.
For his part, Minister Al-Salahani emphasized that the goal of participation is to convert Syria's tourism assets into actual travel programs and partnerships with international tour operators, noting that the success of participation is not measured only by the number of visitors, but by the economic value each visit adds to Syria.
Al-Salahani added that participation allows for direct communication with travel industry partners and understanding the requirements of international markets, and working with the private sector to develop competitive tourism products, pointing out that the Ministry is working in parallel to develop services and raise the readiness of tourism facilities.
He indicated that participation provides an opportunity for Syrian tourism companies to explore opportunities to include Syrian cities and sites in international travel programs, particularly in European markets, as well as exchanging expertise on demand trends and digital transformation in travel services.
Syria previously participated on September 15 in the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2026 in Dubai, as part of the Ministry's direction to enhance the presence of the Syrian destination in regional and international markets and expand partnerships with investors and tourism, travel, hospitality, and aviation companies.
