Syrian National Library Launches Course on Scientific Research Production
The Syrian National Library launches an intensive course in humanities to empower researchers with documentation and academic publishing skills.

The Syrian National Library announced the launch of a specialized course titled "Scientific Research Production in the Humanities," which will take place from October 25 to 28. This initiative aims to enable postgraduate researchers and students to acquire skills in modern documentation and publishing tools, serving the education and community development sectors.

Academic Axes and Practical Applications

The educational program includes a series of interactive lectures covering the basics of research narrative, manuscript structure, methods of information collection and field sources, as well as proofreading standards and post-writing stages. Workshops focus on deconstructing scientific publishing pathways and discussing projects, aiming to equip students with skills to formulate problems and transform theoretical principles into practical actions.

Targeted Program Details

The Director General of the Syrian National Library, Dr. Saeed Hijazi, clarified that the course extends over intensive training days totaling 20 training hours, flexibly distributed between 12 hours of theoretical lectures and eight hours of joint practical application. Hijazi noted that the program targets Master's and PhD researchers, as well as undergraduate students approaching graduation, offering commitment to attendance and official participation certificates that support their professional portfolios.

New Developmental Role for the Library

He added that this course is an extension of a series of previous specialized workshops and courses recently organized by the Syrian National Library to qualify personnel and develop documentation and manuscript preservation skills. These programs fall at the heart of the library's new developmental and creative role, transcending its traditional role as a custodian of heritage to become an active platform contributing to knowledge production and protecting the country's intellectual output.

Registration Mechanism

The program provides a vital platform that encapsulates training pathways for academic formulation and curriculum building, contributing to transferring theoretical knowledge into practical applications. A link for publication on the library's official Facebook page has been designated for course registration, ensuring that information reaches students seeking to develop their competencies.
