The Syrian Post confirmed that the large and simultaneous influx of retirees during the first hours of the first day of pension distribution caused exceptional pressure on the servers hosting the postal system, resulting in a temporary technical glitch that did not exceed half an hour. The Post explained in a statement received by SANA on Wednesday that this glitch was unrelated to the public internet network and was immediately addressed by specialized technical teams, restoring the system to normal operation.
For its part, the Post indicated that it has been working in recent periods to expand the scope of opening and spreading its offices across various governorates and regions, aiming to alleviate the financial burden on retirees and spare them the hardship of traveling to city centers. Management directed the extension of working hours until the last retiree is served, and also highlighted the availability of the "Residence" service, which delivers pensions directly to beneficiaries' homes, noting a significant and growing number of users.
The Post added that its clarification comes in the context of its commitment to direct and transparent communication with media and citizens, and to explain the circumstances of the congestion at its offices at the start of pension disbursement. The Post had previously announced last Monday that the disbursement of pensions for retirees covered by social insurance begins on Wednesday, November 4, and continues until Sunday, November 22, through its offices in the governorates, in coordination with the General Organization for Social Insurance.
