Syrian wrestler Alaa Al-Karad continues his sporting achievements
Syrian wrestler Alaa Al-Karad showcases his local, Arab, and Asian achievements and his sporting career in Germany with his family.

Syrian wrestler Alaa Al-Karad, aged 43, is a prominent example of an athlete who combined ambition and discipline throughout his long sporting career, as his name has been associated with Greco-Roman wrestling since childhood. Al-Karad began practicing the sport at the age of six with Al-Sha'la Club under the supervision of coach Imad Kanoush, where initial training focused on physical fitness and general wrestling concepts before progressing to technical details.

For his part, Al-Karad clarified in an interview with the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) that he represented the Syrian national team and the Army Club in wrestling competitions, achieving various local, Arab, and Asian accomplishments. He won the Arab Championship title in 2003 in Damascus, the championship title in 2004 in Jordan, in addition to a silver medal at the Asian Championship in 2004, reflecting a strong presence at both the regional and continental levels.

In the same context, Al-Karad resumed his sporting career in Germany after moving there in 2015 following a five-year hiatus, starting to play in 2016 with a Bundesliga club. He participated in several tournaments, winning one gold and two silver medals, as well as securing a gold medal at an international tournament in Stuttgart and another in the Netherlands, demonstrating his determination to continue competing despite changing circumstances.

He noted that his three sons also practice wrestling and have achieved notable accomplishments in recent years, illustrating a father's story of passing his passion for the sport to his children. This embodies the truth that championships are not measured by medals alone, but also by the values inherited by generations and the dreams that find their way to the podiums.
