The city of Tadmur received an ambulance and a compactor waste collection vehicle today, Tuesday, provided by the "Hand in Hand for Relief and Development" organization, with the aim of supporting the health sector and enhancing public sanitation services, amid the increasing return of residents to the city and its growing needs for basic services.
The operations director at the organization, Ahmed al-Aqra, explained that providing the ambulance aims to strengthen the ambulance and medical referral system from Tadmur to hospitals in Homs, and to secure an equipped transport means to respond to emergency medical cases. He pointed out that providing a compactor waste collection vehicle supports garbage collection and waste management operations more effectively, contributing to improving the environmental reality and providing a suitable healthy environment for the return of residents and displaced persons to their homes.
The director of Tadmur Hospital, Walid Ouda, noted that the new ambulance will contribute to improving services provided to citizens, especially transporting mine victims and heart patients from Tadmur Hospital to hospitals in Homs to receive necessary treatment. For his part, the head of Tadmur Municipal Council, Amin al-Saleh, emphasized the importance of the new compactor vehicle in supporting public sanitation services, noting that the city's expansion and increasing needs require enhancing service capacities.
Al-Aqra added that the organization is currently working on restoring several clinics, schools, and mosques, and supporting health services, with the aim of strengthening infrastructure and creating the necessary conditions for the safe and dignified return of displaced persons. He affirmed that Tadmur will be among the organization's future project priorities, given its needs in the health and education sectors.
