The Judicial Complex in the city of Tabqa, in the Raqqa Governorate, was officially opened on October 1, to provide its services to approximately 350,000 residents of the city and its suburbs. The complex includes first-instance civil, criminal, and Sharia courts, along with the investigation and civil execution departments and the Public Prosecution, thereby contributing to facilitating litigation procedures and reducing the burden of travel to the governorate center.
The head of the Public Prosecution in the complex, Basil al-Khalil, clarified on Sunday to SANA that the official start of work came in implementation of the Ministry of Justice's directives to activate courts in the regions. He pointed out the reception of requests and summons since the first day, which saves time, effort, and costs for citizens, noting near-term plans to activate the Mansoura and Jarneen peace courts and qualify judicial cadres.
For his part, the head of the Civil Court of First Instance in the complex, Ammar Qasba, confirmed that the complex serves the residents of Tabqa and its suburbs, including Mansoura, Jarneen, and Al-Dabsi, and exempts them from the hardship of traveling to the governorate center. Qasba pointed out a noticeable pressure, especially in the Sharia court and the Public Prosecution, considering that the complex constitutes the nucleus for expanding judicial services in the region.
For his part, citizen Qusay al-Gharib highlighted the ease and speed of completing judicial transactions, confirming the positive impact of opening the complex on improving services provided to citizens. The opening aimed to facilitate judicial and legal services for the residents of the region, where lawyer Mustafa al-Arab pointed out that the opening reduced the material and psychological burdens on citizens and lawyers.
