The meeting, held at the ministry building in Damascus, focused on bus supply and manufacturing, as well as developing modern solutions for transport and logistics services.
Minister Badr emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation with the Sultanate of Oman and fraternal countries, and benefiting from their expertise and experience in developing Syria's transport fleet. He pointed out the necessity of utilizing electronic applications to facilitate transport services and improve their efficiency, thereby contributing to sector modernization and enhancing service quality.
For his part, Al-Balushi expressed the company's interest in exploring available investment opportunities in the Syrian market and developing sustainable partnerships that contribute to meeting the transport sector's needs. He noted that this cooperation enhances the presence of Omani industry in regional markets and contributes to developing transport infrastructure.
The Omani Vehicle Manufacturing Company operates in the field of bus manufacturing, with its factory located in the Duqm Special Economic Zone, which began production in 2021. The factory specializes in manufacturing buses for urban transport, schools, and intercity travel, while the company is working to diversify its production lines to include armored vehicles.
Developing the transport sector in Syria is considered one of the areas proposed for investment, given the need to modernize the bus fleet and improve transport service efficiency.
