Trump announces upcoming meeting with Putin and Zelensky
Trump announces a meeting with Putin and Zelensky on Ukraine, and describes Tehran's desire for an agreement with Washington.

US President Donald Trump announced he would hold a meeting "very soon" with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in a statement to journalists at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland on Tuesday evening, as he returned from an election rally in Texas.

Trump clarified that he had discussed the Russian-Ukrainian war and the Iranian file with his Secretary of State Marco Rubio and his special envoy Steve Witkoff, noting that he was "making significant progress regarding Russia and Ukraine." He indicated that Putin and Zelensky would participate in the aforementioned meeting, without providing details regarding its date, location, or format.

For his part, Trump claimed that Tehran wishes to reach an agreement with Washington, suggesting that it is waiting for the midterm congressional elections scheduled for November 3. He added: "They wanted to strike a deal, but they like to prolong the process. They might be waiting for the elections or something else, but that will not benefit them."

In response to a question about the possibility of launching new attacks on Iran after the midterm elections, Trump replied: "Everything is possible, but I cannot tell you anything." It is worth noting that the United States and Israel began a war on Iran on February 28, while Washington and Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding on June 18 before the collapse of negotiations.
