US President Donald Trump, during an election rally in Arizona, announced the need to punish those who leaked information regarding the timing of a US military attack on Iran, stressing that "we must shoot those who leaked this information." This came in a speech delivered on Wednesday, ahead of the November 3 elections.
Details of the Leak and Cancellation
Trump clarified that "B-2" bombers were previously sent to carry out attacks on Iran, but information about the operation was leaked before its execution and published in media outlets including "CNN" and "The New York Times." He noted that the information included the takeoff time of the planes from Missouri at 12:07 on the day of the attack, emphasizing that this was "unacceptable."
Strict Penalties for Leakers
The US President added that he was forced to cancel the bomber attacks on that day, before they were executed two days later. He said: "Someone leaked the information, these people must go to prison and stay there for life. But in my opinion, we must shoot those who leaked this information. In the past, we shot leakers."
Historical Context of the Attacks
Trump stressed the necessity of not tolerating those who leak information about US military activities, considering them a threat to the country's national security. It is recalled that the United States carried out strikes targeting Iranian nuclear facilities in June 2025, and on February 28, 2026, launched a war on Iran alongside Israel.
