Turkish Defense Ministry Calls for Firmer International Stance Against Israeli Occupation
Ankara demands immediate halt to Israeli aggression and condemns Houthi attacks on Riyadh airport.

The Turkish Ministry of Defense called on the international community on Thursday to take a firmer stance against the attacks carried out by the Israeli occupation and to demand their immediate cessation to end the state of chaos that keeps the region in danger.

Anadolu Agency quoted the ministry spokesperson, Zeki Ak Turk, during a weekly press briefing, saying that "Israel, which has endangered the security and stability of the region since October 2023, continues its massacres and provocative rhetoric," noting that the number of Palestinians losing their lives or being forced to leave their homes and lands is increasing daily due to Israeli attacks.

Condemnation of Houthi Attacks

In the same context, the Turkish spokesperson emphasized that the Houthi militia's attacks targeting King Khalid International Airport in the Saudi capital Riyadh constitute a clear violation of international law and international humanitarian law, causing further escalation of tensions in the region, and called for their cessation.

Last Saturday evening, 12 people were killed and 309 others injured as a result of the Houthi militia's attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, amid widespread Arab and international condemnations.

Peacekeeping Command in Kosovo

Meanwhile, Ak Turk confirmed that the Turkish Armed Forces continue to contribute to establishing peace and maintaining stability in many parts of the world, within the framework of international missions and bilateral relations.

He pointed out in this context that Turkey assumed command of the peacekeeping force in Kosovo for the second time on October 3, 2025, for a period of one year, handing over command to Italy during a ceremony held on Wednesday, attended by Turkish Chief of General Staff General Salih Cevikoglu.

He said: "We will continue to make important and decisive contributions to NATO's security and the Euro-Atlantic region, today and in the future as we have done in the past."
