The British capital's police announced on Sunday that the number of people detained during a protest held on Saturday in support of "Palestine Action," which is classified as a banned organization, has risen from 139 to 325. This was stated in a post by London Police on the American platform "X," regarding the latest information concerning the protest held in front of the US Embassy.
The police stated in their post: "A total of 325 people were arrested yesterday, Saturday. Most of them, numbering 320, were arrested under the Terrorism Act on suspicion of committing the offense of supporting a banned organization." The police did not clarify the reasons for the arrest of the other five individuals, having previously announced the arrest of 139 people.
With the inclusion of the new detainees, the number of people arrested since July 5, 2025, for carrying signs reading "I am against genocide and support Palestine Action" has risen to 4,200. Among the 4,200 detainees, approximately 2,500 are facing legal charges for supporting a banned organization.
"Palestine Action" is known for organizing protests targeting companies dealing with Israel, having previously carried out an action in June 2025 in front of the British "Brize Norton" air base. Following that incident, then-Home Secretary Yvette Cooper initiated procedures to ban the movement, which was officially banned in July 2025.
After the government appealed the ruling, the British Court of Appeal ruled on June 15 last that the ban on "Palestine Action" was lawful, overturning the Supreme Court's decision. The ban remains in effect, while the British Supreme Court has scheduled November 4 and 5 for hearing an appeal against the ban decision.
