UN Experts: Gaza Ceasefire Has Not Stopped Genocide
UN report confirms ongoing Israeli crimes in Gaza and West Bank despite ceasefire, with evidence to be submitted to ICC.

A team of independent United Nations experts has affirmed that the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip has not halted the genocide being committed by Israeli occupation forces in the sector. This was stated in a new report issued today, Monday, and relayed by the Palestinian News Agency "Wafa".

Continuation of Crimes in the West Bank and Gaza

The experts stated that Israeli occupation forces are committing crimes against humanity, including torture and rape in the West Bank. The report presented accounts of the suffering of Palestinian prisoners who suffered sexual assaults committed by guards and soldiers since October 2023, as well as shocking testimonies of humiliating violations and assaults suffered by Palestinian detainees.

Israeli Incursion After the Ceasefire

The report noted that Israel "continues to commit acts of genocide intended to destroy Palestinians, in whole or in part." It clarified that a large portion of the damage and casualties resulted from the Israeli army's incursion deep into the sector following the ceasefire agreement. The experts documented the killing of Palestinian children, including infants, by snipers and drones, which doctors confirmed, noting that the children's injuries indicate high precision and targeted use of lethal force.

International Warnings and Judicial Accountability

The committee emphasized that this evidence and detailed documentation will be submitted to international judicial bodies, including the International Criminal Court, to strengthen the process of holding those responsible for these crimes accountable. UN and international bodies warn that the continuation of Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip undermines the ceasefire agreement and threatens to further deteriorate the humanitarian situation, stressing the need for urgent international action to ensure the cessation of attacks and secure the delivery of humanitarian aid to protect civilians.
