Technical staff at the Banias oil terminal complete the unloading of four gas tankers.

Technical personnel at the Banias watershed have completed the unloading of four gas tankers with a total load of more than 9,000 metric tons, according to the Syrian Petroleum Company.

The company explained in a statement today that the technical teams immediately began pumping quantities to the main tanks in preparation for distributing them to the governorates as part of a plan aimed at enhancing the stability of supplies during the current period.

With the arrival of these carriers, the market is expected to witness a gradual improvement in the availability of the material in parallel with efforts to increase storage capacity and develop downstream infrastructure.

The company indicated that the arrival of this batch comes at a time when the local market is witnessing increasing pressure on domestic gas, especially in the winter, stressing that the supply of these quantities will contribute to improving the flow and reducing the bottlenecks that have appeared during the past weeks.

The data indicates that quantities of approximately 14.6 thousand tons of gas have arrived since the beginning of last February, with the continuation of the flow of tankers to the downstream, some of which are loaded with about 9 thousand tons, and during the past days, five gas tankers have arrived in Baniyas, while three others are on the way, which reflects an accelerated pace of supply aimed at filling the shortage of the material.
