US Organization Publishes Data on Over 41,000 Employees of the Department of Homeland Security
Data leak of 41,000 DHS employees by a hacking group in response to stricter deportation measures.

The US organization "Distributed Denial of Secrets," specializing in publishing information leaks, announced the publication of data concerning more than 41,000 employees of the US Department of Homeland Security.

The organization stated in a statement on its website yesterday, Wednesday, that it obtained the data from a group of hackers known as "Department of Peace," who created the "Icepick" tool that allows detailed searching for employees' names, offices, and duties.

Leak Details

Cybersecurity researcher Maya Arson Crime stated that the leaked dataset is large in size and impact, noting that it "provides an unprecedented look at the organizational structure of the Department of Homeland Security and clarifies the nature of work of individuals in various agencies under the department, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)."

The organization clarified that the data reveals the identities of those in charge of supervising secret operations and undercover operations, as well as the government campaign to track informants, in addition to key employees responsible for the forced transfer and deportation programs of the US Department of Homeland Security, the pace of which is constantly escalating.

Leak Motives and Statistics

The hacker group stated that the data leak came in response to statements attributed to Homeland Security Secretary Marcoine Moline on July 17, in which he indicated that Immigration and Customs Enforcement would intensify its procedures on the streets by increasing arrests related to immigration and vehicle stops.

According to the "Migration Policy Institute," the US Department of Homeland Security carried out 980,000 deportation operations during the first eighteen months of Trump's term.
