Vance seeks to unify Republicans and attract Trump critics
Vance proposes four goals to reunify Republicans and target the new right ahead of 2028 elections.

US Vice President JD Vance sought to unify Republican voters and build a new alliance with those who distanced themselves from President Donald Trump, following the Republican Party's loss in the US Congressional midterm elections.

Fox News reported, citing informed sources, that the positions of Trump and Vance have attracted significant attention, especially after Republicans lost their majorities in both the House of Representatives and the Senate during the midterm elections.

Vance's Four Goals

Sources indicated that Vance proposed four goals to reunify Republican voters, which include "ending the war with Iran, focusing on the cost of living and inflation, putting the United States first, and changing relations with Israel."

Vance hinted at his disagreements with Trump in statements after the elections, particularly regarding Iran and Israel, while a meeting was held at the White House on the morning of the election day to discuss unifying the message to be issued by the Trump administration.

Alliance Against the New Right

A source, who preferred anonymity, said that the four points proposed by Vance represent a call to form an alliance targeting the "new right" stream in preparation for the presidential elections scheduled for 2028.

The "new right" is generally defined as a coalition of Republicans who adopt trends consistent with Trump's "America First" movement, including its core principles of staying away from external conflicts and closing borders.

Election Results

According to initial unofficial results, the Democratic Party outperformed its Republican counterpart in the US Congressional midterm elections, seizing the majority in both the House of Representatives and the Senate.
