US embassy urges citizens to avoid protests and monitor curfew orders amid escalating violence.

The United States issued a security warning to its citizens residing in France, following the escalation of violence in the "Yellow Vests" protests. The US Embassy in Paris confirmed in a statement issued on Monday evening that the demonstrations, which began on October 17, were accompanied by security tensions.

In the same context, the embassy pointed out that French authorities imposed a curfew in several cities under directives from the French Prime Minister's office. It urged American citizens to stay away from protest areas, monitor updates in anticipation of disruptions in metro and public transport services, and keep track of curfew decisions.

For his part, local sources mentioned that the demonstrations organized by the "Yellow Vests" movement, with student support, resulted in the arrest of thousands of people and injured more than a thousand police, gendarmes, and firefighters. Approximately 3,000 stores were damaged or looted during these events.

Reports added that the French government decided on Monday to impose a partial curfew in major cities such as Paris, Lyon, Nice, and Lille, aiming to prevent a recurrence of violence. These protests began for the first time on November 17, 2018, in protest against fuel prices, then evolved into criticism of President Emmanuel Macron's policies.
