The WhatsApp application announced the launch of four new features for group chats, aimed at facilitating message tracking and interactions, and providing additional tools to organize content and share it among group members.
The tech site 9to5Mac reported in an article published the day before yesterday that the features announced by WhatsApp via its official blog include the development of chat filters, expanding pinned message options, allowing the sharing of previous messages with new members, as well as sharing status updates within groups.
The first feature allows adding the "Mentions and Replies" option to chat filters, enabling users to view groups that contain unread messages in which they were mentioned, or direct replies to their messages, including messages directed to all group members using (@all).
The second feature allows pinning messages in group chats indefinitely, whereas options were previously limited to 24 hours, seven days, or 30 days, helping to keep important information visible to members.
The third feature allows sharing previous messages with a new member after they join the group, as users can click on the member's name and send recent messages to them, whereas this capability was previously only available when adding them to the group.
The fourth feature allows sharing status updates with a specific group, enabling members to view and interact with posted statuses, as well as publish their own updates within the group, with these statuses disappearing after 24 hours.
WhatsApp indicated that the new features will be rolled out gradually, so they may not appear for all users at the same time, with the update reaching more devices in the near future.
These updates come as part of WhatsApp's ongoing efforts to develop communication tools and provide more options to help users manage their group chats and follow their content easily and effectively.
