WhatsApp tests feature to attach audio to stickers
WhatsApp develops a new feature allowing short audio recordings to be added to static and animated stickers.

Washington-SANA

WhatsApp is testing a new feature that allows audio recordings to be attached to stickers, a move aimed at expanding expression and interaction options within conversations by adding personal voices or audio files to static and animated stickers.

Audio Feature Details

The tech news site "Android Authority" reported in an article published the day before yesterday that the feature appeared during an analysis of the latest app version. It allows users to record their voice directly or select an audio file saved on their device, with a duration not exceeding ten seconds.

According to the report, a sound wave icon will appear among the sticker creation tools starting from an image, allowing users to attach audio before sending the sticker. For animated stickers created from videos, the app will automatically add a five-second audio clip from the original video, with the option to replace it with another audio file.

User Interface Improvements

Sent stickers will include a speaker icon, allowing recipients to play or pause the audio, providing an additional way to express emotions and share audio content within conversations. The report also noted that the updates under testing include an option to remove the outer frame that appears around stickers when they are created.

In addition, the message writing box will be redesigned to be wider, and attachment, animated image, and sticker tools will be moved to a separate line below the writing area. These features are still under development and testing, and WhatsApp has not announced an official release date for all users, while their characteristics may change before final launch.
