The Yemeni Air Force launched airstrikes targeting positions, gatherings, and vehicles of the Houthi militia in scattered areas of Taiz governorate, coinciding with the Armed Forces and popular resistance repelling attacks launched by the militia around the city.
The Yemeni News Agency reported on Sunday, citing military sources, that the airstrikes targeted militia positions in areas under their control in the Al-Shamaytain directorate in the south of the governorate, including Jabal Sabran, camps around the city of Al-Turba, and the Al-Asabah area, in addition to their gatherings on the Al-Sahy-Karba road.
In the west of Taiz city, the Taiz Axis Command stated that the Air Force carried out three airstrikes targeting a gathering and military equipment of the militia in Tubat Al-Dunyan northwest of the city, personnel and vehicles in the Garab area, and supplies heading towards Jabal Han.
Meanwhile, the Armed Forces and popular resistance repelled scattered attacks launched by the Houthi militia around Taiz city, inflicting casualties on them, according to military sources. These developments come amid the continuation of the siege imposed by the militia on the city for the fourth consecutive week.
The "Rasad for Rights and Freedoms" organization warned earlier today of the worsening humanitarian and health situation in Taiz, emphasizing that the continuation of the siege and closure of supply routes threaten the lives of thousands of patients, amid shortages of fuel, medicines, medical supplies, and water.
The Yemeni government had called on the United Nations and the UN Security Council on the 14th of this month to take urgent and effective steps to end the siege imposed on Taiz city and open roads and crossings for civilians and humanitarian supplies, warning of the worsening humanitarian situation in the governorate due to the Houthi militia's escalation.
