The Yemeni Network for Human Rights and Freedoms documented 42 crimes and violations committed by the Houthi militia in Taiz Governorate over the past 48 hours, resulting in casualties. The Yemeni Agency reported on Monday that the militia fired approximately 369 projectiles at residential areas, killing 4 civilians and injuring 7 others, including two 14-year-old girls.
In the same context, the incidents included the abduction of 8 citizens from their homes and commercial establishments in the Al-Kalibah area in Al-Maafir district, coinciding with raids and intimidation to conscript dozens. Additionally, 8 homes were raided and looted, and attacks and shelling targeted homes in Al-Aqroud, amid a continuing blockade that hinders the delivery of medicines and fuel.
For its part, the Network pointed out that approximately 1,280 patients with kidney failure face the risk of treatment interruption due to a shortage of supplies, while the repercussions of fuel shortages threaten the lives of 192 patients in intensive care units and 154 children in incubators. The blockade has damaged two hospitals, four medical centers, and three medical warehouses, including Al-Safwa Hospital, which serves more than 50,000 patients.
It added that the blockade deprives patients of essential and life-saving medications, including insulin, kidney failure medications, emergency supplies, and hemophilia drugs, as well as medications for mental and neurological diseases. Furthermore, 20 percent of maternity and prenatal care clinics have closed, depriving 734 childbirth cases of services, while vaccination centers have stopped operating, denying 3,600 children vaccinations.
The Network clarified that shelling disrupts municipal vehicles and threatens the lives of sanitation workers, leading to waste accumulation and insect proliferation, with sewage overflowing in Jamal and Al-Tahrir streets. It called for lifting the blockade and ensuring the passage of ambulances, urging the United Nations to intervene urgently. Yesterday, the "Rasad for Rights and Freedoms" organization had warned of worsening humanitarian and health conditions in Taiz.
