Zakaria: Working with Trump is an honor before leaving office
Katie Zakaria confirms readiness to leave White House spokesperson role, calling work with Trump an honor amid qualification debates.

White House spokesperson Katie Zakaria confirmed her readiness to leave her post, noting that working with US President Donald Trump was an "honor" for her. This came in a post published by Zakaria on Saturday via her account on the "X" platform, following reports indicating she was preparing to exit the administration.

In the same context, Zakaria described President Trump as "kind, wonderful, considerate, and hardworking," adding: "I wish our people appreciated him more. No one can make America great again as he has done and continues to do." She attached her post with a photo of her with Trump at the White House, affirming that the experience was an honor for her.

For his part, President Trump hinted at the possibility of Zakaria leaving her post amid rising controversy surrounding her. He said: "I just spoke with Katie, and I asked her: Is this job right for you? Katie has been treated very badly and unfairly by the media. She is a very good person, really very good. I told her: Do you have to go through all this?".

A White House official pointed to confirmation of the reports regarding Zakaria's readiness to leave, in response to a question from an Anadolu Agency reporter on Friday. Zakaria officially began her duties as White House spokesperson on October 12, and faced criticism for relying on reading a pre-prepared text during her press conferences.

The controversy regarding her legal qualifications also drew wide attention, after Trump introduced her as a "lawyer." Zakaria defended her position by stating she obtained the license during the period she moved to China, after working at conservative channels such as "Fox News" and "Newsmax."
